When Chris Mergenthaler fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Chris Mergenthaler a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Club Almirante Brown booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chris Mergenthaler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aristides Rayman hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Benedicto Chale who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Tommy Kahn when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Linus Schwerner kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sachs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. Benedicto Chale might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benedicto Chale ran back to his position shaking his head. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedicto Chale in the 57th minute of the match. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 63rd minute, Felix Gines ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benedicto Chale in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. After 80 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Frank Sachs. Club Almirante Brown's Wilfredo Segio got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 87 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Malte Schiele. Albin Holweck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Ermegildo Pacorro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Club Almirante Brown were victorious despite being under pressure from Germany for much of the match.
