Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albano Henric to make the kick off. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Hélder Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hélder Travassos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Ubatuba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Kostadinov didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71stth minute of the game Luiz Gustavo do Valle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute.
