In the 15th minute of the match, Luo Wei Xi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wilson Amorim saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Fluminense DF booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luo Wei Xi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. In the 34th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graciano Coutinho to maneuver through the defense. Luo Wei Xi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raul Caetano hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Wilson Amorim acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 45th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Pedrinho Siqueira. Wilson Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luo Wei Xi in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Pimentel to make the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Luo Wei Xi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Bartolomeu Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Antônio Peres made a huge save. Antônio Peres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 72nd minute of play. Bartolomeu Dias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antônio Peres having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Fluminense DF's Hugo Coelho got a free kick in the 79th minute. After 81 minutes, Luiz Trigo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fluminense DF and the Portugal players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 81 played minutes Fluminense DF got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Trigo. Daniel Pimentel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Peres having to interfere. Adam Zaremba kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Antônio Peres made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Bartolomeu Dias sent off a good shot on target.
