If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ajax Poland's goalkeeper Korneliusz Rasimowicz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Eugeniusz Poniewaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Eugeniusz Poniewaz sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Korneliusz Rasimowicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 33rd minute. Wim Wilmes was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After a defensive mix-up in Ajax Poland's zone, Wim Wilmes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Korneliusz Rasimowicz came out of the goal and Wim Wilmes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the match, Ajax Poland's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Korneliusz Rasimowicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ajax Poland's Korneliusz Rasimowicz. Korneliusz Rasimowicz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ajax Poland's Korneliusz Rasimowicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 62nd minute of play. Korneliusz Rasimowicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 70 played minutes Ajax Poland got a freekick which was hit by Andrei Doibani. Gijsbert ter Kruimer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Korneliusz Rasimowicz made a huge save. In the 78th minute Eugeniusz Poniewaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A throw-in in the 84th minute of the game was made by Egbert Nijveldt with Gijsbert ter Kruimer as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after Ajax Poland's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. The corner led Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer to fire away a dangerous shot which Korneliusz Rasimowicz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Netherlands played a much better game than Ajax Poland and deserved their victory. The Ajax Poland players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
