In the 3rd minute of the match, Stelian Joldea tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnout Reekers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. Netherlands were furious when Lars Meesters was red carded, 10 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Mariusz Zgonina tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reşat Rasif in the 16th minute. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stelian Joldea in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stelian Joldea in the 22nd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomasz Piwko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Dagmar Zupančič's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnout Reekers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Stelian Joldea recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arnout Reekers. Stelian Joldea showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tomasz Piwko. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 42nd minute of play forced KS Piastów Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Tomasz Piwko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reşat Rasif recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gustaaf Groeneveldt made a kick off. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariusz Zgonina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Tomasz Piwko in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 57 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of KS Piastów Sosnowiec's Tomasz Piwko. Tomasz Piwko was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stelian Joldea, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 66th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Egbert Nijveldt hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Apolo Beltza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind KS Piastów Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Tomasz Piwko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stelian Joldea scored 4-2 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnout Reekers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 86 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomasz Piwko. KS Piastów Sosnowiec's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustaaf Groeneveldt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. After 90 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Netherlands and the KS Piastów Sosnowiec players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a free kick in the 90th minute. Apolo Beltza succeeded in the game's 93rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-3. Netherlands's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
