The referee ignored Frontera AFC's protests and gave Rodrigo Palacio a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Frontera AFC's Rodrigo Palacio got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 44th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustaaf Groeneveldt to maneuver through the defense. After 46 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Agustín Rossi was left in no man's land by his defense there!

In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Frontera AFC's goalkeeper Agustín Rossi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wim Wilmes took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agustín Rossi. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Agustín Rossi in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Netherlands had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
