In the 8th minute, Ulisses Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, Los Hornos's goal looked a bit too open when Magno Pereira came free, but Everardo Francho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Los Hornos's goalkeeper Everardo Francho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Umberto Dionísio. Pedrinho Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Opilano in the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Anísio Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everardo Francho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Opilano scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedrinho Guimarães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Everardo Francho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Castanheiro SC were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Los Hornos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Magno Pereira took the corner. Everardo Francho came out of the goal and Benedito Mineiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Alagoano to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Castanheiro SC's zone, Agustin Cesaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Los Hornos's Cipriano Raulo was substituted for Fabian Valery. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremias Ignatius to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Los Hornos's zone, Umberto Dionísio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Everardo Francho came out of the goal and Umberto Dionísio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luisinho Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute Jeremias Ignatius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cipriano Raulo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Pedrinho Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the game, Cipriano Raulo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Hornos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castanheiro SC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Los Hornos's Cipriano Raulo got a free kick in the 63rd minute. A collision led to Los Hornos getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Cipriano Raulo hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Umberto Dionísio in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Everardo Francho saved Los Hornos from getting behind. Pedrinho Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Opilano in the 71st minute of play. Umberto Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Everardo Francho having to interfere. Castanheiro SC made a substitution. Mauro Sarmento replaced Magno Pereira. Castanheiro SC's Marcelo Eger was substituted for Anísio Alagoano. Marciano Tanio's late challenge caught a Castanheiro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marciano Tanio helped the player get up and apologised. Marciano Tanio hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. When Ulisses Senna fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Castanheiro SC's protests and gave Ulisses Senna a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Ulisses Senna. In the 89th minute, Clemente Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The Los Hornos players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
