If Tom Beaune had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Lyon 69ers's Pierre Peeters got control of the ball when Abraham Beauval tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Lyon 69ers's zone, Abraham Beauval stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierre Peeters came out of the goal and Abraham Beauval tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Abraham Beauval kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pierre Peeters. That made the score 5-0 in the 31 minute of play. Pierre Peeters showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Beauval in the 41st minute of the match. Ziemowit Harasimowicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Beaune, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Léon Sureau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Les Pionniers de Touraine's supporters rose to their feet, but Léon Sureau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierre Peeters breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pierre Peeters made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abraham Beauval in the 48th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Charles-Henri Maron to strike the kick off in the second half. Karl Kubler succeeded in the game's 94th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 8-1.
