Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zygmunt Pyrtek, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. When Chris Mergenthaler fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Chris Mergenthaler a yellow card for diving instead. Chris Mergenthaler hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stasio Borowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
