Argoitz Bustelo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Berger in the 28th minute of the match. In the 40th match minute, FC St. Pauli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Eduardo Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. Eduardo Moreno hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Vanadio F.C.'s Argoitz Bustelo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Vanadio F.C. from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
