The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alejo Eleazar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Casper Claes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ludomil Czaplicki went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Artur Boruc was a little too slow when Edward Vanderstraeten got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 2-5. When Edward Vanderstraeten came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Belgium fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Vanderstraeten couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the match, Joga Bonito's Alejo Eleazar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Casper Claes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 95 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belgium's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Vanderstraeten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 97 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Alejo Eleazar came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Belgium eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
