In the 4th match minute, Brugge United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Will Deman to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guido Vissenaeken in the 6th minute of the match. Will Deman kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Vítor Baia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Pimentel, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Guido Vissenaeken kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guido Vissenaeken in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Brugge United fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Brugge United's Guido Vissenaeken looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Felipe Barreto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilson Amorim was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Guido Vissenaeken capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Guido Vissenaeken really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 31st minute of play. The wind increased when Viriato Moura made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vítor Baia having to make a save. 53 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Barreto. Guido Vissenaeken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caetano Moreira kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Caetano Moreira got a free kick in the 68th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Guido Vissenaeken managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brugge United's supporters rose to their feet, but Guido Vissenaeken was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felipinho Amorim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Vítor Baia made a huge save. After 86 minutes Portugal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Percy da Fonseca who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Percy da Fonseca got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wilson Amorim quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolomeu Dias in the 88th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Brugge United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Pimentel was slow to take the kick. During this time Portugal's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Graciano Coutinho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Brugge United's Vítor Baia did a great save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Portugal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Brugge United.
