Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Zaccheo Andolina got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 5th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vítor Baia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Vítor Baia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 12th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Ümit Karan in the 21st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Italy's Siricio Liotta. Vítor Baia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zaccheo Andolina went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Vítor Baia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 29th minute of play. After some careless play in the Italy defense, Guido Vissenaeken kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Flavio Vittori. The Italy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavio Vittori should have stopped the shot. After 42 played minutes Brugge United got a freekick which was hit by Laurențiu Roşculeţ. A well-hit corner resulted in Deodato Magliozzi heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. A collision led to Brugge United getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Dacian Hrean hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Zaccheo Andolina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Baia having to interfere. Jaspar Van Den Broeck kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Brugge United's Waud Huijbrechts was substituted for Jaspar Van Den Broeck. The supporters of Italy booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaspar Van Den Broeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute of the game Dacian Hrean made a throw-in which Ümit Karan played forward. In the 89th minute Adriano Curto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Dacian Hrean threw the ball into play from the sideline. Italy's Eliseo Cutri quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The Brugge United support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
