Ramiro Brasil lost his temper 21 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cambotinha EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osvaldo Furlan in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter Čech saved Cambotinha EC from getting behind. Peter Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Furlan in the 28th minute of play. Osvaldo Furlans short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Peter Čech to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Osvaldo Furlan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Čech read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Cambotinha EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Osvaldo Furlan scored to the left of an out of position Peter Čech, making the score, 2-0. In the 54th minute, Osvaldo Furlan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fluminense DF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. In the 56th minute, Alfredo de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Osvaldo Furlan took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peter Čech. Peter Čech dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. In the 64th minute Osvaldo Furlan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Fluminense DF's Edmílson Simão got control of the ball when Inácio Romero tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Cambotinha EC booed when Fluminense DF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rei Pelé didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Fluminense DF's zone, Inácio Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmílson Simão came out of the goal and Inácio Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfredo de Alcântara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Peter Čech having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Osvaldo Furlan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Peter Čech was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Marco Queirós made in the 75th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Aírton Faria. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Osvaldo Furlan sped through Cambotinha EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Peter Čech. Peter Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Furlan in the 79th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Cambotinha EC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo de Alcântara came free, but Peter Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Cambotinha EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fluminense DF:s goal. Alfredo de Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. The Cambotinha EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Čech should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Osvaldo Furlan put it in 11-0 from a short distance just to the right of Peter Čech. Fluminense DF's Alfredo de Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fluminense DF's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
