After some careless play in the YR Mechelen defense, Miguel Refugio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andries Van Mechelen. The YR Mechelen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andries Van Mechelen should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in YR Mechelen's zone, Jessop Salah stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andries Van Mechelen came out of the goal and Jessop Salah tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Tuur Candries managed to get in a good position for a shot. YR Mechelen's supporters rose to their feet, but Tuur Candries was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 范翀树 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of YR Mechelen booed when Sumalao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jessop Salah didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Joery Van Mechelen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. YR Mechelen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sumalao FC the free kick. A collision led to YR Mechelen getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Joery Van Mechelen hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, YR Mechelen's Maurice Van Mechelen got a free kick in the 37th minute. It was beautiful to see Sumalao FC's Martin Jeraldo in action when he in the 39th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! 41 minutes into the game, Miguel Refugio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Andries Van Mechelen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 44 minutes in the game Samuel Garin did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Generoso Ihazintu. A collision led to YR Mechelen getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Vincent Van Mechelen hit a great ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miguel Refugio was the one to do the kick off. Andries Van Mechelen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Refugio in the 55th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul-Louis Van Mechelen in the 57th minute of play forced Sumalao FC's goalkeeper 范翀树 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adolphe De Maerschalckx hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Andries Van Mechelen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Ortigoza in the 68th minute of play. Jessop Salah's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Andries Van Mechelen firmly grabbed it by the left post. A collision led to Sumalao FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Carmelo Elazar hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Jessop Salah came free, but Andries Van Mechelen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 范翀树 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul-Louis Van Mechelen in the 81st minute of play. Paul-Louis Van Mechelen's late challenge caught a Sumalao FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paul-Louis Van Mechelen helped the player get up and apologised. Andries Van Mechelen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jessop Salah in the 86th minute. After 92 minutes, Generoso Ihazintu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sumalao FC and the YR Mechelen players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd match minute, Sumalao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Generoso Ihazintu to maneuver through the defense. Andries Van Mechelen came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Sumalao FC's Miguel Refugio. But to his dismay, Miguel Refugio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4.
