Inácio Romero might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 范翀树. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Inácio Romero ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee felt a red card was in order, 8 minutes into the game, when Zygmunt Koprowski put in a rough tackle. 7 minutes into the game, one of Sumalao FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 范翀树 had in the 9thth minute some difficulties stopping Aírton Faria's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Peter Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jessop Salah in the 13th minute of play. 范翀树 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aírton Faria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Sumalao FC defense, André Reis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 范翀树. The Sumalao FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 范翀树 should have stopped the shot. When Cambotinha EC's Vitinho de Barros in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sumalao FC's goalie prevented a goal. Jessop Salah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Čech having to interfere. A collision led to Cambotinha EC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Aírton Faria hit a great ball. Peter Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jessop Salah in the 32nd minute of play. Vitinho de Barros struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. 范翀树 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cambotinha EC. Caetano Furtado hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Cambotinha EC's Peter Čech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jessop Salah in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th minute, Nestor Ortigoza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sumalao FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vitinho de Barros made a kick off. In the 50th minute of the match, Jessop Salah got a very nice opportunity to score, but Peter Čech was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Cambotinha EC's Peter Čech got control of the ball when Jessop Salah tried to sneak it across the goal line. 53 minutes into the game, Anderson de Toledo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cambotinha EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sumalao FC the free kick. After 53 played minutes Cambotinha EC got a freekick which was hit by Anderson de Toledo. When Matthew Clos came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Sumalao FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matthew Clos couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Sumalao FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Jessop Salah hit a great ball. Inácio Romero might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 范翀树. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vitinho de Barros took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised 范翀树. 范翀树 dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Sumalao FC's Jessop Salah got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cambotinha EC's Peter Čech proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Cambotinha EC from getting a goal against them. If André Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Nestor Ortigoza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sumalao FC's Jessop Salah got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Peter Čech made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Jessop Salah sent off a good shot on target. Jessop Salah received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Peter Čech came out and tried to block the shot, but Jessop Salah slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 85th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Sumalao FC's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Romero came free, but 范翀树 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jessop Salah's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Čech read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. The supporters of Cambotinha EC booed when Sumalao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jessop Salah didn't get a good kick on the ball.
