In the 40th minute Ahmet Refik Ülgü shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anzhelo Gerushin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belcho Hlebarov in the 47th minute of play forced FC CSKA's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ЦСКА players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC CSKA were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ahmet Refik Ülgü to make the kick off. Anzhelo Gerushin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bogdan Belberov's late challenge caught a FC CSKA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bogdan Belberov helped the player get up and apologised. 64 minutes into the game, FC CSKA's Ahmet Refik Ülgü nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anzhelo Gerushin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. FC CSKA's Ruslan Dzhalev was substituted for Ahmet Refik Ülgü. FC CSKA's Georgi Dimitrov was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Anzhelo Gerushin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 75 minutes into the match, ЦСКА's goalkeeper Anzhelo Gerushin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ruslan Dzhalev. Ruslan Dzhalev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anzhelo Gerushin having to interfere. Téo Vieira struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Anzhelo Gerushin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC CSKA. Bogdan Belberov hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in ЦСКА's zone, Ruslan Dzhalev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anzhelo Gerushin came out of the goal and Ruslan Dzhalev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 85 minutes into the match, ЦСКА's goal looked a bit too open when Ruslan Dzhalev came free, but Anzhelo Gerushin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anzhelo Gerushin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruslan Dzhalev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, FC CSKA's Anzhelo Gerushin threw himself towards the right post 88 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ruslan Dzhalev, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ruslan Dzhalev could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Anzhelo Gerushin made a huge save. The supporters of ЦСКА booed when FC CSKA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Danielsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute, Tanel Kiik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
