Henrich Slany yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Germán Cano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 27 de Mayo's 郭昆辉 quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Vít Biskup, made in the 52nd minute of the game. Slovakia's Metod Mlynar got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Henrich Slany made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. In the 86th minute, Oswaldo Gaúcho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 27 de Mayo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Bebeto Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Henrich Slany tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Slovakia's goal looked a bit too open when Oswaldo Gaúcho came free, but Henrich Slany reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hélder Severo succeeded in the game's 95th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 9-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. 27 de Mayo fully deserved thier win.
