After a defensive mix-up in Stowmarket City's zone, Rene Henriquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arturo Umaña came out of the goal and Rene Henriquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rene Henriquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Arturo Umaña tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of AD chaparrastique booed when Stowmarket City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benji Zapata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernesto Zepeda was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 41st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Arturo Umaña didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rene Henriquez went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicolás Salazar made a kick off. AD chaparrastique's Libardo Guevara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Díaz in the 98th minute of play. The AD chaparrastique supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AD chaparrastique would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
