With his leg Josue Giron managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when CD Santos's Ruben Coreas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. CD Santos's Isaac Castaneda got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, CD Santos's goal looked a bit too open when Zelvin Anaya came free, but Emiliano Mondragon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emiliano Mondragon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Hidalgo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arturo Meza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Josue Giron tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Milton Mayen kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match.

After 56 minutes, Salvador Ortiz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Santos and the Newlyn East players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zelvin Anaya could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Emiliano Mondragon made a huge save. If Isaac Castaneda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Josue Giron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Meza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ruben Coreas in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Josue Giron saved Newlyn East from getting behind. In the 76thth minute of the game Ruben Coreas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newlyn East's Josue Giron was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Josue Giron stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ruben Coreas's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Ruben Coreas put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Josue Giron. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zelvin Anaya got free with Emiliano Mondragon in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 84 minutes into the match, CD Santos's goalkeeper Emiliano Mondragon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Douglas Pacheco. 92 minutes into the match, Isaac Castaneda notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Newlyn East's Josue Giron. Josue Giron was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. CD Santos's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
