An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Abadie in the 5th minute of play forced Paloma AFC's goalkeeper Julio Hotz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute, one of Paloma AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Paloma AFC. Julio Hotz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Lucero in the 13th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Severo Anaya recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edgard Llanos. Severo Anaya showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 22nd minute Carmelo Iratxo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Hotz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Hotz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelo Abadie went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. They were losing 1-3.

After a defensive mix-up in Club Pumas UNAM's zone, Severo Anaya stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgard Llanos came out of the goal and Severo Anaya tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafin Hermon in the 63rd minute of play forced Club Pumas UNAM's goalkeeper Edgard Llanos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgard Llanos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Anaya in the 66th minute of play. Julio Hotz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo Abadie in the 67th minute. Julio Hotz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Lucero in the 68th minute of the match. Everardo Unax hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Edgard Llanos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafin Hermon, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 83 minutes into the game, Marcelo Abadie lined in a short shot 1-5 behind a frustrated Julio Hotz. In the 87th minute, Eliseo Remir hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 90 minutes into the match, Paloma AFC's goalkeeper Julio Hotz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelo Abadie. With splendid footwork Mauro Lucero arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-6 by the left pole in the game's 92nd minute. Club Pumas UNAM's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
