Roberto Ribeiro's late challenge caught a Tamworth's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roberto Ribeiro helped the player get up and apologised. After 10 played minutes Haydock got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Ribeiro. The audience was convinced that Giovani Villalobos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eliseo Sifon was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Joselito Cerritos hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Haydock:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tamworth:s goal. In the 21st minute, Camilo Posadas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 25 played minutes Tamworth got a freekick which was hit by Marvin Alvarenga. 27 minutes into the match, Ivan Velis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alonso Lovo. Tamworth's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivan Velis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 31 minutes into the match, Tamworth's Giovani Villalobos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eliseo Sifon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alonso Lovo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josue Fernandez's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Eraldo Palma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Sifon having to interfere. Eliseo Sifon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovani Villalobos, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Tamworth's Eraldo Palma got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Giovani Villalobos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute, Joselito Cerritos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Ivan Velis might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alonso Lovo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivan Velis ran back to his position shaking his head. Eraldo Palma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Eliseo Sifon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Haydock's goal looked a bit too open when Giovani Villalobos came free, but Eliseo Sifon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ivan Velis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the match, Tamworth's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Velis came free, but Alonso Lovo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tamworth's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Eraldo Palma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Eliseo Sifon made a huge save. After having played for 90 minutes, Giovani Villalobos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tamworth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giovani Villalobos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eraldo Palma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Eliseo Sifon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
