Max Brizuela hit a great ball. If Fidel Najarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peckham's Hector Sandoval suffered a concussion in the 16th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Eraldo Hernández recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 23 played minutes Peckham got a freekick which was hit by Eraldo Hernández. The audience was convinced that Alvaro Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mario Osorio was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Fidel Najarro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Corrales having to interfere. In the 30th of the match, Alvaro Barreto tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Mario Osorio got in the way and made a wonderful save.
