In the 6th minute, Luis Berrueta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute Alberto Peña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Januario Coreas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Matlock's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Alas came free, but Julio Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Alas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cristian Alas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Julio Guerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Alas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Guerra having to interfere. The supporters of Nunthorpe United booed when Matlock was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Guerrero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Alas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Guerra having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Oswaldo Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nunthorpe United's supporters rose to their feet, but Oswaldo Messias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Guerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Nunthorpe United's Julio Guerra threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cristian Alas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 34th match minute, Matlock was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrés Alvarenga to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Alas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Guerra having to make a save. Alberto Peña recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberto Peña received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Januario Coreas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Cristian Alas made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ramon Baptista during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th minute, Ramon Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute Cristian Alas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alberto Peña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henry Guerrero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Januario Coreas having to interfere. Mauro Batres charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mauro Batres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Cristian Alas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Alas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Julio Guerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luis Berrueta kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. The Nunthorpe United supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Matlock's performance. The match ended with a win for Matlock.
