The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute, Francisco Talia made a precise shot to the right of Arnoldo Victorino. Manchester's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Alvaro Alvarenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Cerritos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvaro Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Berrueta in the 15th minute of the match. Daniel Reyes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Reyes in the 19th minute of play forced Manchester's goalkeeper Arnoldo Victorino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manchester's Ricardo Berrueta got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Francisco Talia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnoldo Victorino was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Alvaro Alvarenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Cerritos in the 34th minute of play. Francisco Talia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Cerritos in the 39th minute of play forced Braunton FC's goalkeeper Alvaro Alvarenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardo Berrueta to make the kick off. Arnoldo Victorino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Talia, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Braunton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Berrueta came free, but Alvaro Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Francisco Talia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnoldo Victorino was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Braunton FC's Francisco Talia got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester's goalkeeper Arnoldo Victorino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Efrain Barquero hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. A collision led to Manchester getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Alvaro Rivera hit a great ball. After 72 played minutes, Braunton FC's Felipe Batres shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arnoldo Victorino came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Braunton FC reached it. A collision led to Manchester getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Mario Alvarenga hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexander Cerritos during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 76th minute, Alexander Cerritos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 79 minutes, Daniel Reyes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Braunton FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Reyes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexander Cerritos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Alvarenga having to interfere. If Ricardo Berrueta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the game, Alberto Zaldaña cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Arnoldo Victorino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Braunton FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Manchester had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
