In the 30th minute Frank Duran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Minor Murillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The nice shot from Uriel Matos in the 32ndth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Minor Murillo had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. When Escazu FC's Frank Duran in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Herradura AFC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 34th minute Frank Duran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Minor Murillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 35 played minutes Herradura AFC got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Ulloa. When Rafael Ulloa fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Herradura AFC's protests and gave Rafael Ulloa a yellow card for diving instead. Rafael Ulloa kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Herradura AFC's Vicente Camacho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roy Villareal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Duran to make the kick off. Uriel Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Minor Murillo having to interfere. If Vicente Camacho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Duran might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Minor Murillo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Duran ran back to his position shaking his head. Vicente Camacho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Escazu FC's Roy Villareal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Escazu FC from getting a goal against them. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
