Oihenarte Bretal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dag Ambjörnsson went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Oihenarte Bretal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Messi, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. With a little luck, C.D. Nacional do Madeira's Bieito Villarreal got control of the ball when Celino Escorcia tried to sneak it across the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in C.D. Nacional do Madeira reached it. After a rather tough play, C.D. Nacional do Madeira's Salbatore Cocolina got a free kick in the 25th minute. Oihenarte Bretal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dag Ambjörnsson's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. After some careless play in the Estanqu defense, Gilson Velloso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oihenarte Bretal. The Estanqu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oihenarte Bretal should have stopped the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Estanqu's goal looked a bit too open when Dag Ambjörnsson came free, but Oihenarte Bretal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Estanqu's Oihenarte Bretal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilson Velloso in the 42nd minute of play. Gilson Velloso scored 0-4 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oihenarte Bretal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ephraim Münstermann made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Ephraim Münstermann left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.D. Nacional do Madeira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ephraim Münstermann got free with Oihenarte Bretal in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 61st match minute, C.D. Nacional do Madeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ephraim Münstermann to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentine Benegas in the 62nd minute of play forced C.D. Nacional do Madeira's goalkeeper Bieito Villarreal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bieito Villarreal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urtsin Gavela in the 63rd minute of play. Bieito Villarreal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentine Benegas in the 65th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilson Velloso got free with Oihenarte Bretal in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd minute Dag Ambjörnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oihenarte Bretal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. C.D. Nacional do Madeira were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Estanqu's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Denis Guiral took the corner. The corner led C.D. Nacional do Madeira's Cristiano Messi to a score. 0-6 in the 74th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Ephraim Münstermann cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Oihenarte Bretal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gilson Velloso's late challenge caught a Estanqu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilson Velloso helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, C.D. Nacional do Madeira's Gilson Velloso got a free kick in the 84th minute. Oihenarte Bretal made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Ephraim Münstermann sent off a good shot on target. 87 minutes into the match, Gilson Velloso notched a goal, 0-8, to the right of Estanqu's Oihenarte Bretal. Oihenarte Bretal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 91 minutes into the game, C.D. Nacional do Madeira's Ephraim Münstermann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oihenarte Bretal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-9. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremy Victorero during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the final whistle sounded C.D. Nacional do Madeira left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Estanqu.
