Cesar Pinilla started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Potrero Grande's zone, David Valdez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moisés Sánchez came out of the goal and David Valdez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cesar Pinilla was extremely unlucky when he, in the 9th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Cesar Pinilla might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Max Moscoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cesar Pinilla ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Chiguirí Arriba F.C.'s Calito Aizprua got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Moisés Sánchez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Valdez in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Palma in the 36th minute of play forced Potrero Grande's goalkeeper Moisés Sánchez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Valdez might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Moisés Sánchez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Valdez ran back to his position shaking his head. 44 minutes into the match, Potrero Grande's goal looked a bit too open when David Valdez came free, but Moisés Sánchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

If Cesar Trejos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Potrero Grande's Cesar Pinilla got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Max Moscoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesar Pinilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Alex Escalona fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chiguirí Arriba F.C.'s protests and gave Alex Escalona a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Chiguirí Arriba F.C.'s Alex Escalona got a free kick in the 60th minute. Potrero Grande's Moisés Sánchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pablo Palma in the 64th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Pablo Fernández hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cesar Trejos in the 68th minute of play forced Chiguirí Arriba F.C.'s goalkeeper Max Moscoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moisés Sánchez made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Valdez in the 71st minute. If Cesar Pinilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. Cesar Trejos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Max Moscoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Potrero Grande fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chiguirí Arriba F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
