After a defensive mix-up in Sabanitas F.C.'s zone, Luchito Barrera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emiliano Alfaro came out of the goal and Luchito Barrera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Eduardo De Leon came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Divalá fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo De Leon couldn't finish the play. Lorenzo García might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hermes Villarreal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lorenzo García ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Sabanitas F.C. booed when Divalá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucho Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felipe Castillero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. The referee ignored Sabanitas F.C.'s protests and gave Ulpiano Tijero a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sabanitas F.C. getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Ulpiano Tijero hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Divalá's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Briceño came free, but Hermes Villarreal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felipe Castillero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermes Villarreal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Luis Briceño's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hermes Villarreal was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. 92 minutes into the match, Divalá's goalkeeper Hermes Villarreal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Castillero. In the 93rd minute, Jonathan Chavez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Briceño fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermes Villarreal having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Divalá had won after a very even match.
