The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerardo Santibañez got free with Juan-Angel Pumares in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. C. D Leones's Benedykt Pracki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Barreiro in the 25th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Lorenzo Caseres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UD Novillo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C. D Leones the free kick. Lorenzo Caseres kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Benedykt Pracki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Barreiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Christian Monterrey hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Juan-Angel Pumares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerardo Santibañez in the 42nd minute. After a rather tough play, UD Novillo's Teo Fuica got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Gerardo Santibañezs short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Juan-Angel Pumares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alex Barreiro made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Cesar Tendiero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Juan-Angel Pumares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Christian Monterrey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan-Angel Pumares having to interfere. Benedykt Pracki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teo Fuica in the 60th minute of play. Zavior Mobellan kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the UD Novillo defense, Gerardo Santibañez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan-Angel Pumares. The UD Novillo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan-Angel Pumares should have stopped the shot. Gerardo Santibañez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Juan-Angel Pumares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Escalona could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Benedykt Pracki made a huge save. C. D Leones's Benedykt Pracki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save C. D Leones from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute Teo Fuica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedykt Pracki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Jorge Escalona took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Benedykt Pracki to make any attempt to save it. Alex Barreiro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. UD Novillo's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Frutos Laincera fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Novillo's protests and gave Frutos Laincera a yellow card for diving instead. C. D Leones's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
