The coaching staff of Olguin SC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ricardo Castejana had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 10 minutes of play, CD Nate's Vasco Gili made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodolfo Cubillo was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Gutierrez Campos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gutierrez Campos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carlos Garibay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos-Alberto Olmos having to interfere. If Vasco Gili had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Gutierrez Campos managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Nate's supporters rose to their feet, but Gutierrez Campos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Cubillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute, Antonio Rendueles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodolfo Cubillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gutierrez Campos, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
