The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

One of Veintimilla SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CD Villao:s goal. Rubio Guio placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Walter Corullon during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, CD Villao's Walter Corullon got a free kick in the 56th minute. When CD Villao's Rubio Guio in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 68th minute, Rubio Guio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Walter Corullon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Gabriel Montez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rubio Guio might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gabriel Montez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rubio Guio ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonardo Uribizalgo during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 83 played minutes CD Villao got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Uribizalgo. After 91 minutes of play, CD Villao's Rubio Guio made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gabriel Montez was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 96th minute Rubio Guio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Montez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rubio Guio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that CD Villao were the better team. CD Villao's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
