CD Cascarilla's Stalin Salamanca couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 4th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for CD Llumaguango. In the 6th minute, Santiago Feloaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gomez Enestrosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teofilio Balbin in the 11th minute of play. With a little luck, CD Llumaguango's Blandón Gargollo got control of the ball when Xzaiver Fuenmayor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teofilio Balbin in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gomez Enestrosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Teofilio Balbin struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Gomez Enestrosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Llumaguango. Gomez Enestrosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zarando Taracena, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. If Xzaiver Fuenmayor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by José-Manuel Zambranos in the 27th minute of play forced CD Llumaguango's goalkeeper Blandón Gargollo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 played minutes, CD Cascarilla's Trivniño Camerin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Blandón Gargollo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CD Cascarilla reached it. The supporters of CD Cascarilla booed when CD Llumaguango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xandro Vuelta didn't get a good kick on the ball. CD Llumaguango's Blandón Gargollo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save CD Llumaguango from getting a goal against them. In the 33rd minute, Xandro Vuelta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in CD Cascarilla's zone, Teofilio Balbin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gomez Enestrosa came out of the goal and Teofilio Balbin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th match minute, CD Cascarilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duarte Montez to maneuver through the defense. If Teofilio Balbin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Teofilio Balbin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gomez Enestrosa was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After some careless play in the CD Llumaguango defense, Xzaiver Fuenmayor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Blandón Gargollo. The CD Llumaguango fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Blandón Gargollo should have stopped the shot. In the 65th minute, CD Llumaguango's Teofilio Balbin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Xzaiver Fuenmayor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blandón Gargollo having to interfere. Duarte Montez charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Duarte Montez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to CD Cascarilla getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Duarte Montez hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the game, Cumbicus Tuo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CD Llumaguango's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CD Cascarilla the free kick. In the 76th match minute, CD Llumaguango was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cumbicus Tuo to maneuver through the defense. Blandón Gargollo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José-Manuel Zambranos, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. If Zarando Taracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teofilio Balbin in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gomez Enestrosa saved CD Cascarilla from getting behind. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
