Valerio Olivares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Granadilla. Valerio Olivares came out of the goal and Jairón Arraña tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valerio Olivares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Idalgo's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Valerio Olivares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Idalgo, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Valerio Olivares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairón Arraña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jairón Arraña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valerio Olivares having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Universitario F.C.'s zone, Yoelvis Herrero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valerio Olivares came out of the goal and Yoelvis Herrero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The CD Granadilla fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when CD Granadilla's Cristian Idalgo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Valerio Olivares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Idalgo, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jairón Arraña to make the kick off. Javier Serra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yoelvis Herrero during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to CD Granadilla getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Yoelvis Herrero hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Javier Serra in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucio Buedo saved CD Granadilla from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Universitario F.C.'s zone, Cristian Idalgo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valerio Olivares came out of the goal and Cristian Idalgo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Idalgo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Valerio Olivares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valerio Olivares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Idalgo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 69 minute of play. After recieving a nice pass, Universitario F.C.'s Xarles Mediavilla tried to score from far away in the 77th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Yoelvis Herrero was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 78 minutes had been played. In the 79th minute, Yoelvis Herrero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to CD Granadilla getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Cristian Idalgo hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the match, CD Granadilla's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Serra came free, but Lucio Buedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Pavel Teijelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute, Pavel Teijelo made a precise shot to the right of Lucio Buedo. CD Granadilla's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. CD Granadilla walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
