Maximo Cimbron ran back to his position shaking his head. Xaver Solis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Mina Saens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Lopez Cantiello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mina Saens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximo Cimbron in the 24th minute of the match. Lopez Cantiello's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yago Briz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Maximo Cimbron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. the chuck norris club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximo Cimbron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of the chuck norris club booed when Ecuador FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erwin Hudobro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maximo Cimbron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. the chuck norris club's Yago Briz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lopez Cantiello in the 38th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in the chuck norris club's zone, Hector Tordomar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yago Briz came out of the goal and Hector Tordomar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mina Saens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xaver Solis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 54th minute, Xaver Solis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The the chuck norris club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Mina Saens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximo Cimbron in the 60th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xaver Solis got free with Mina Saens in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
