The supporters of Piedrahita SC booed when Vieja SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urtats Buisan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fiallos Albarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Barroiz having to interfere. Rene Ocejo might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Barroiz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xurxo Paliza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomas Caldas having to make a save. When Vieja SC's Rodriguez Teijon, in the 35th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Vieja SC. In the 40th match minute, Piedrahita SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose-Antonio Villapecellin to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rodriguez Teijon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Xurxo Paliza might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomas Caldas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Caldas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodriguez Teijon, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. When Méndez Callergos came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Piedrahita SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Méndez Callergos couldn't finish the play. 59 minutes into the game, Alexandro Cerradelo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vieja SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piedrahita SC the free kick. After 59 played minutes Vieja SC got a freekick which was hit by Alexandro Cerradelo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fiallos Albarez in the 60th minute of play forced Vieja SC's goalkeeper Miguel Barroiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rene Ocejo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Barroiz having to interfere. Rodriguez Teijon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Vieja SC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Alexandro Cerradelo hit a great ball. After 73 minutes of play, Piedrahita SC's Fiallos Albarez made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Miguel Barroiz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vieja SC's Miguel Barroiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fiallos Albarez in the 86th minute of play. Humberto Maeztu's late challenge caught a Vieja SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humberto Maeztu helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Piedrahita SC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Humberto Maeztu hit a great ball. Fiallos Albarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Barroiz having to interfere. In the 94thth minute of the game Fiallos Albarez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vieja SC's Miguel Barroiz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fiallos Albarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Miguel Barroiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexandro Cerradelo was shown his second yellow card after 97 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Vieja SC's Alexandro Cerradelo got a free kick in the 97th minute. There was no doubt that Piedrahita SC were the better team. Piedrahita SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
