Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) UD Azucar's Vinicio Gamarra started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Vinicio Gamarra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Bonachea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Pagola charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Miguel Pagola the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of CD Floreana booed when UD Azucar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Pagola didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute, Miguel Pagola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xuaco Abarca came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by CD Floreana's Castro Valbaler. But to his dismay, Castro Valbaler quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 25th match minute, UD Azucar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Arguiso to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute Rafael Arguiso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Bonachea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Igor Bonachea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Arguiso in the 38th minute of the match. Fabio Jado charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabio Jado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 41 played minutes CD Floreana got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Jado. If Rafael Arguiso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half UD Azucar were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nando Horquizar made a kick off. Igor Bonachea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinicio Gamarra, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Rafael Arguiso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Igor Bonachea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, UD Azucar's Rafael Arguiso got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Castro Valbaler managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Floreana's supporters rose to their feet, but Castro Valbaler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xuaco Abarca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 64th minute, Miguel Pagola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of UD Azucar booed when CD Floreana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabio Jado didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 75 played minutes UD Azucar got a freekick which was hit by España Mendes. After a defensive mix-up in UD Azucar's zone, Hector Cervera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xuaco Abarca came out of the goal and Hector Cervera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xuaco Abarca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Castro Valbaler, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. If Castro Valbaler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The UD Azucar supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing UD Azucar would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
