Libertad Borroel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Xuaco Abarca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vinicio Gamarra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Linde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xuaco Abarca having to interfere. Liverpool F.C.'s Guerrero Gos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Gamarra in the 41st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Liverpool F.C.'s Martin Olazabal got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 47th minute Vinicio Gamarra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guerrero Gos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Xuaco Abarca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85th play minute Pedro Linde came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Xuaco Abarca. 0-1. The supporters of UD Azucar booed when Liverpool F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marlon Jane didn't get a good kick on the ball.
