Martin Dominguez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Humberto Arteson kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yago Mauricio during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th minute of the match Espínola Miro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roque Echave showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Roque Echave made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Dominguez in the 31st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zeru Aguileta in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samaniego Garros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Guayas FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Xurdin Affonso hit a great ball. 41 minutes into the match, CD Huanubuela's Zeru Aguileta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samaniego Garros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Ignacio Samperio came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the CD Huanubuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ignacio Samperio couldn't finish the play. In the 48th minute, Zeru Aguileta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alvaro Ordoña to strike the kick off in the second half. CD Huanubuela's Roque Echave played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Ordoña in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Alvaro Ordoña managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guayas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvaro Ordoña was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roque Echave breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ignacio Samperio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Zeru Aguileta came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the CD Huanubuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zeru Aguileta couldn't finish the play. After 77 played minutes Guayas FC got a freekick which was hit by Roldan Almaraz. Samaniego Garros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignacio Samperio in the 79th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Ordoña in the 81st minute of play forced CD Huanubuela's goalkeeper Roque Echave to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samaniego Garros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeru Aguileta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute of the match, Zeru Aguileta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Samaniego Garros saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ignacio Samperio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Samaniego Garros made a huge save. When Humberto Arteson fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CD Huanubuela's protests and gave Humberto Arteson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 90th minute, Humberto Arteson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Alvaro Ordoña managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guayas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvaro Ordoña was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roque Echave breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roque Echave showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvaro Ordoña, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
