After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Leonides Florian managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Suquianda's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonides Florian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After some careless play in the Coquito FC defense, Xelo Lacalle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enrique Ferreras. The Coquito FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enrique Ferreras should have stopped the shot. After having played for 9 minutes, Iván Garin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coquito FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iván Garin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to UD Suquianda getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Roman Portilla hit a great ball. Justavino Mariaza hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xelo Lacalle in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrique Ferreras prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Leonides Florian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Ferreras having to interfere. If Iván Garin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roman Portilla kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Leonides Florian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iván Garin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Enrique Ferreras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xelo Lacalle in the 37th minute of the match. The supporters of UD Suquianda booed when Coquito FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernando Cardeñosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Coquito FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xelo Lacalle to make the kick off. Parrales Domao hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. When Cortez Bernardo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 56 minutes had been played. Leonides Florian might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enrique Ferreras. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonides Florian ran back to his position shaking his head. Guamán Molla kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Xelo Lacalle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Ferreras having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Leonides Florian left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The UD Suquianda fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xelo Lacalle in the 79th minute of play forced Coquito FC's goalkeeper Enrique Ferreras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonides Florian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Enrique Ferreras made a huge save. When Justavino Mariaza fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coquito FC's protests and gave Justavino Mariaza a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd match minute, Coquito FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justavino Mariaza to maneuver through the defense. When Xelo Lacalle came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the UD Suquianda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xelo Lacalle couldn't finish the play. If Xelo Lacalle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
