In the 5th minute of the match, Lavallén Bichesne tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Valery Garabito saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aguirre Bustinaga in the 17th minute of play forced Olinda FC's goalkeeper Valery Garabito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aguirre Bustinaga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Oscar Laores had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Camilo Zamorano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olinda FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Camilo Zamorano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sandro Jorrin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Gualaquiza defense, Camilo Zamorano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sandro Jorrin. The Gualaquiza fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sandro Jorrin should have stopped the shot. Oscar Laores fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Jorrin having to interfere. Aguirre Bustinaga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Valery Garabito made a huge save. 33 minutes into the game, Pico Arizabalo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gualaquiza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olinda FC the free kick. Pico Arizabalo kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Oscar Laores struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Sandro Jorrin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olinda FC. Sandro Jorrin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Zamorano in the 36th minute of play. If Lavallén Bichesne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gualaquiza's Sandro Jorrin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camilo Zamorano in the 41st minute of play. Olinda FC's Valery Garabito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Olinda FC from getting a goal against them. After 47 played minutes Lavallén Bichesne rounded Olinda FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Camilo Zamorano made the kick off in the second half. Torres Guijano's late challenge caught a Gualaquiza's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Torres Guijano helped the player get up and apologised. Torres Guijano kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Xurxo Licher kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Fricson Yaner was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 56th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Lavallén Bichesne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandro Jorrin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Zamorano, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Oscar Laores fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Jorrin having to interfere. Parrales Alamea's late challenge caught a Olinda FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 68th match minute, Olinda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvarez Nogro to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Olinda FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gualaquiza:s goal. The referee gave Gualaquiza a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Fricson Yaner, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Olinda FC's Valery Garabito. 2-1. A collision led to Olinda FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Camilo Zamorano hit a great ball. After 80 played minutes Gualaquiza got a freekick which was hit by Alonso Devesa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aguirre Bustinaga in the 85th minute of play forced Olinda FC's goalkeeper Valery Garabito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Gualaquiza's Sandro Jorrin got control of the ball when Oscar Laores tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 92nd minute Aguirre Bustinaga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valery Garabito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Gualaquiza's Aguirre Bustinaga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valery Garabito narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gualaquiza fans cheered their team off the field, for while Olinda FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
