In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind UD Briceno's goalkeeper Victoriano Asenjo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, UD Briceno's goal looked a bit too open when Garcia Molner came free, but Victoriano Asenjo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victoriano Asenjo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ibarra Tixido in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Garcia Molner made a precise shot to the right of Victoriano Asenjo. UD Briceno's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Victoriano Asenjo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ibarra Tixido, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After 43 played minutes UD Briceno got a freekick which was hit by Federico Cadrecha. Ibarra Tixido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, UD Briceno's Hector Dolarea got a free kick in the 46th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ibarra Tixido in the 47th minute of play forced UD Briceno's goalkeeper Victoriano Asenjo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Ledesma Vela made the kick off in the second half. Viviano Villa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ledesma Vela in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56th minute of the match Jacinto Magadan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victoriano Asenjo skillfully saved the ball. When Hector Dolarea fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UD Briceno's protests and gave Hector Dolarea a yellow card for diving instead. Hector Dolarea kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Viviano Villa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lastra Tirado, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 67th match minute, UD Briceno was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lastra Tirado to maneuver through the defense. When the match had been going on for 94 minutes, CD Pusanuma's Jacinto Magadan got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Victoriano Asenjo. In the 98th minute, José-Francisco Loza made a precise shot to the right of Viviano Villa. CD Pusanuma's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The CD Pusanuma supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CD Pusanuma would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
