Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Huaquillas FC's Uhin Barbosa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Xosepe Celerain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uhin Barbosa in the 3rd minute of play. Huaquillas FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Zilar Fragua scored to the left of an out of position Franco Lete, making the score, 1-0. Zilar Fragua who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Franco Lete when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Julian Valonga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Xosepe Celerain was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. 12 minutes into the match, Huaquillas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ordóñez Vial came free, but Franco Lete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Huaquillas FC's goalkeeper Franco Lete had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zilar Fragua. Ordóñez Vial sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the game, Vladimiro Devalla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CD Cuvintzi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Huaquillas FC the free kick. In the 21st minute, Vladimiro Devalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Huaquillas FC's goalkeeper Franco Lete, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jairón Pañeda's late challenge caught a CD Cuvintzi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jairón Pañeda helped the player get up and apologised. 27 minutes into the game, one of Huaquillas FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 29 minutes, CD Cuvintzi's Ismael Barria got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Franco Lete. After 32 played minutes CD Cuvintzi got a freekick which was hit by Fiallos Olloque. Julian Valonga might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xosepe Celerain. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julian Valonga ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 35th minute, Julian Valonga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Uhin Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute Uhin Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xosepe Celerain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 43 minutes, Julian Valonga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huaquillas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Valonga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fiallos Olloque's late challenge caught a Huaquillas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fiallos Olloque helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, CD Cuvintzi's Fiallos Olloque got a free kick in the 46th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ordóñez Vial to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Ordóñez Vial shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Lete saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Huaquillas FC's Franco Lete played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zilar Fragua in the 54th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ordóñez Vial in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franco Lete saved Huaquillas FC from getting behind. CD Cuvintzi's Zilar Fragua got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Uhin Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CD Cuvintzi's Xosepe Celerain proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save CD Cuvintzi from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Ordóñez Vial managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Cuvintzi's supporters rose to their feet, but Ordóñez Vial was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Franco Lete breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 76 minutes into the match, Huaquillas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zilar Fragua came free, but Franco Lete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian Valonga came free with the goalkeeper in the 79th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Xosepe Celerain could save by the left post. Julian Valonga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xosepe Celerain read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. In the 85th minute Huaquillas FC were awarded a corner. Rogelio Rivadeneira went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Mendez Canado managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Xosepe Celerain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uhin Barbosa in the 90th minute of the match. Julian Valonga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xosepe Celerain having to interfere. If Uhin Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Huaquillas FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
