Zamorano FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Checa Bolde scored to the left of an out of position Lon Zugarrondo, making the score, 1-0. Fix Cedrun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Napier Alberdi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Selmo Castellanos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lon Zugarrondo having to interfere. A collision led to Vaticano FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Oro Villalva hit a great ball. Fix Cedrun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Napier Alberdi in the 24th minute of play. With a little luck, Zamorano FC's Lon Zugarrondo got control of the ball when Selmo Castellanos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lon Zugarrondo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Checa Bolde, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Fix Cedrun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Napier Alberdi in the 34th minute of the match. Urti Errarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Napier Alberdi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fix Cedrun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urti Errarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Oxel Mendivil kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Urti Errarte blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fix Cedrun having to make a save. Napier Alberdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Fix Cedrun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Napier Alberdi was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Zamorano FC defense, Checa Bolde kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lon Zugarrondo. The Zamorano FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lon Zugarrondo should have stopped the shot. Bonifaco Carillo charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bonifaco Carillo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Zamorano FC booed when Vaticano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifaco Carillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, Urti Errarte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Urti Errarte had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fix Cedrun. Vaticano FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Urti Errarte was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 80th minute, Napier Alberdi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Urti Errarte got free with Fix Cedrun in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 93 played minutes Zamorano FC got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Lino. An unexpectedly hard shot by Checa Bolde in the 97th minute of play forced Zamorano FC's goalkeeper Lon Zugarrondo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Zamorano FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
