The supporters of Cienagueta FC booed when Tunja FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melquiades Elejalde didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rios Golpe took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mirande Yepes. Cienagueta FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 11 played minutes Cienagueta FC got a freekick which was hit by Hermengildo Gandarias. Asur Castellano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gar Braojos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Mirande Yepes made a huge save. With a little luck, Cienagueta FC's Mirande Yepes got control of the ball when Gar Braojos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zosimo Erazo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oto Herias in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Cienagueta FC's Oto Herias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tunja FC's Zosimo Erazo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oto Herias in the 31st minute of play. In the 39th match minute, Tunja FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Asur Castellano to maneuver through the defense. Mirande Yepes came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Tunja FC's Gar Braojos. But to his dismay, Gar Braojos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Gelacio Huberto made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th match minute, Tunja FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artal Pedraza to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Tunja FC's zone, Gelacio Huberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zosimo Erazo came out of the goal and Gelacio Huberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mirande Yepes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gar Braojos in the 67th minute of the match. Artal Pedraza hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Paulino Barbeito from long distance, 70 minutes into the match, got Zosimo Erazo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After having played for 77 minutes, Gelacio Huberto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cienagueta FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gelacio Huberto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
