Xavies Vives recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th minute, Xavies Vives ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Camilo Enebro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Niolaao Peso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severiano Bizoso having to interfere. Camilo Enebro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricart Riva in the 28th minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, Rancheria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leobardo Carrillos to maneuver through the defense. After 35 played minutes Botafogo FC got a freekick which was hit by Martin Redin. Camilo Enebro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricart Riva in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of Rancheria booed when Botafogo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Basurto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th match minute, Botafogo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Redin to maneuver through the defense. Niolaao Peso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Severiano Bizoso made a huge save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Botafogo FC's Niolaao Peso got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Niolaao Peso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severiano Bizoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Basurto in the 57th minute of play. Botafogo FC's Felix Basurto got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niolaao Peso in the 62nd minute of play forced Rancheria's goalkeeper Severiano Bizoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Xavies Vives got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Severiano Bizoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niolaao Peso in the 70th minute of play. Niolaao Peso struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Severiano Bizoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botafogo FC. 75 minutes into the game, one of Rancheria:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Botafogo FC a penalty, 76 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Endura Munne, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rancheria's Severiano Bizoso. 2-1. When Niolaao Peso came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Botafogo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niolaao Peso couldn't finish the play.
