In the 9th match minute, Gedeno FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ur Salas to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 10 minutes, Edilberto Ozuna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estrella Roja de Bogotá's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edilberto Ozuna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gau Notes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ordono Cid made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gau Notes in the 26th minute of play. Nunez Fuenmayor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edilberto Ozuna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the game, Beturian Castañeda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estrella Roja de Bogotá's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gedeno FC the free kick. In the 55th minute, Edilberto Ozuna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 57 minutes into the match, Estrella Roja de Bogotá's Edilberto Ozuna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nunez Fuenmayor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 67th minute, Natalio Fariñas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Estrella Roja de Bogotá fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 72 minutes into the match, Estrella Roja de Bogotá's goalkeeper Ordono Cid had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gau Notes. If Platon Cambas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Estrella Roja de Bogotá fully deserved thier win.
