In the 11th match minute, Estapapes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesareo Palenciano to maneuver through the defense. Xalvador Azcona shot from long distance in the 12th minute, but Horado Concha was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Gonza Tavira hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. When Nicolao Arraya came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Curairima FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolao Arraya couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute Sabin Surga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pepito Zubizarrieta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 49 minutes into the match, Estapapes's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolao Arraya came free, but Horado Concha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
