The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivon Ordoñez hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Casimiro Reganado dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ariel Aldaz, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramon Posiga got free with Ariel Aldaz in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45thth minute of the game Silbestre Cuevas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bocaina's Franco Francos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ramon Posiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ariel Aldaz having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Casimiro Reganado was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Ramon Posiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ariel Aldaz was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chorroco's goalkeeper Ariel Aldaz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Virgilio Piñera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the game, Bocaina's Ramon Posiga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Virgilio Piñera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute of the match, Silbestre Cuevas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Franco Francos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Silbestre Cuevas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Everardo Tavira during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
