A collision led to Carayaca getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Matteo Viedes hit a great ball. If Matteo Viedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. After 10 played minutes, Carayaca's Albano Abrego shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Estevez Lordaliego came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carayaca reached it. Sampay FC's Americo Suarbol shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 13th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ofelio Novo but with some difficulty. Estevez Lordaliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enekoitz Santatis, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Santio Recemill managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sampay FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Santio Recemill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ofelio Novo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matteo Viedes in the 23rd minute of play forced Sampay FC's goalkeeper Estevez Lordaliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Carayaca's Matteo Viedes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Estevez Lordaliego made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to Carayaca getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Yaniusky Zarra hit a great ball. When Santio Recemill came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Sampay FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Santio Recemill couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Sampay FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Lapurdi Zayas hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sampay FC's zone, Matteo Viedes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Estevez Lordaliego came out of the goal and Matteo Viedes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matteo Viedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Estevez Lordaliego having to interfere. Montxo Serrana might have been able to make a better finish in the 49th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ofelio Novo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Montxo Serrana ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santio Recemill to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Carayaca's zone, Santio Recemill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ofelio Novo came out of the goal and Santio Recemill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Orlandus Cembrana charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Orlandus Cembrana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th minute, Vasco Palomares sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sampay FC's Estevez Lordaliego didn't even have to move. Zuri Posse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Estevez Lordaliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ofelio Novo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santio Recemill's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Enekoitz Santatis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Estevez Lordaliego having to make a save. Zuri Posse's late challenge caught a Sampay FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zuri Posse helped the player get up and apologised. In the 72nd match minute, Carayaca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zuri Posse to maneuver through the defense. Enekoitz Santatis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Estevez Lordaliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute Matteo Viedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Estevez Lordaliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Carayaca supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Carayaca would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
